Local Food Tour

Taste the best of Russia

The tour starts from a very cozy restaurant — «Hinkley» where we buy Georgian Pita and take a closer look at what Caucasus food is (extra option to taste — Samsa). Next stop — classic local shop with fruit, vegetables, dairy products. You will see what locals like buying and what they don’t. There we compare prices, quality, and quantity of food people consume. Walking to the Golitsin Loft, the guide will give a brief review of Russia — Caucasus relationships, Soviet time residencies in the South and current immigration policy. Golitsin Loft is a good place to have a cup of coffee, try classic desserts and post-Soviet sweets. The place has unforgettable vibes. It is artistic, intellectual and fashionable — a perfect place to see modern young-adult society. Then we get back to Nevsky Prospect to try the legendary «Shaverma» — the snack you simply can’t miss visiting Saint Petersburg. Eliseev’s Merchant Shop is next door and it is absolutely unforgettable. It is one of the oldest shops in Russia and it feels like shopping in a food museum. Finally, we will have a proper dinner in «Kvartirka» — a legendary Soviet Style restaurant. It totally drags you in the Soviet Era and you will fall in love with all the little interior details and simple but incredibly tasty food. All in all, you will experience food from three different centuries.
